Our Story

From Our Home to Your Needles

Hi, I'm Heather — the farmer, dyer, and one-half of the crew behind Clark Farm Meat & Goods, nestled in the Kittitas Valley in Central Washington State.

It all starts right here on our farm, where we raise a mixed flock of sheep on open pasture. When shearing season comes around, that raw fleece doesn't go far — it stays close to home, where I transform it into the wool fiber for you to spin or felt for you own projects. I also enjoy the dyeing process and dye bare yarn I buy to bring you unique yarn for all your hand knits. 

The Hand-Dyeing Process

Every skein is dyed by hand, one small batch at a time. I work with carefully chosen colors to create the rich, one-of-a-kind colorways that make each skein truly unique. Because the process is done by hand, no two skeins are ever exactly alike — and that's exactly the point.

The result is yarn with real character: colors that shift and blend in ways that machine dyeing simply can't replicate, ready to become something beautiful through your needles or hooks.

When you knit or crochet with Clark Farm yarn, you're working with fiber that I like to use myself to create projects for my family, friends, or to sell here online. There's a whole process of color selection & dyeing technique behind every skein, and I love that it continues in whatever you create.
